Classical guitarist Jason Vieaux returns as soloist with the New Mexico Philharmonic on Saturday, January 25 at 6 p.m. in Popejoy Hall (203 Cornell Dr. NE). Vieaux will perform Vivaldi’s Concerto in D Major, RV 93 and Jonathan Leshnoff’s Guitar Concerto on a program entitled “Mozart and Beyond.” The program opens with Mozart’s overture to The Marriage of Figaro and concludes with Mozart’s Symphonies No. 25 and No. 35. The performance is preceded by a pre-concert talk at 5 p.m. by KHFM’s Brent Stevens. NPR describes Vieaux as “perhaps the most precise and soulful classical guitarist of his generation.” For details or to purchase tickets,  check out nmphil.org. (Photo by Tyler Boye.)
